In the last twenty-four hours, various areas of Gujarat have been witnessing impressive cold weather. Gujarat Weather Naliya in the state recorded the lowest temperature of the season at 5 degrees. Along with the release of this temperature, the cold in extended areas of the canal has seriously affected the life of the people. People are using warm clothes and heating for relief. On the other hand, in Rajkot city too, the mercury has dipped to 9.7 degrees, due to which the locals are facing cold.
During this period, a cold wave is also predicted in parts of Saurashtra. In Rajkot, a minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees was recorded while the temperature dropped by 5.9 degrees due to wind effect. Such reversals have also affected city schools, and district education officials have been instructed to switch to 9 p.m., to protect children from the cold.
In Ahmedabad too, the temperature dropped to 13.4 degrees
While the temperature has decreased in Vadodara and Surat. Ahmedabad, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Disa, Porbandar, and other major cities have experienced cold snap.
Mount Abu, a hill station in Rajasthan, is also not spared from the cold wave. Temperatures have dipped to minus 3 degrees, causing a blanket of snow. Locals and tourists are enjoying this cold weather, but it is also becoming a challenge for people to go out due to cold weather.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cold effect is likely to persist for the next 24 hours. Northerly wind flow is expected to increase in the state, which will bring more cold. The wind direction is now shifting to the northeast, which may soften the cold, but the cold influence will remain across the state.
This cold will make people use heating more and the education department will have to take appropriate measures and try to keep the students safe.
