Know the religious significance and mythology

According to the scriptures there was a demon named Narakasura who tormented the deity and saints every day.  Due to which all the gods and saints reached to Lord Shri Krishna for help.  Narakasura got the boon of death only at the hands of a woman.  After which there was a war between Narakasura and Lord Shri Krishna and then Shri Krishna killed Narakasura with the help of his wife Satyabhama.  Let us tell you that Narakasura took 16 thousand hostages, who were released by Lord Krishna.

The day on which Narakasura was killed was the tithi of Aso Vad Chaudas.  Since then the festival of Narak Chaturdashi started to be celebrated.  Also on this day Yamaraj, the god of death is worshiped and hence this day is also known as Yama.  On this day, lamps should be lit in the house and the dignity.

Lord Shri Krishna should be worshiped on the day of Kali Chaudas.  Also serving cow on this day brings happiness and prosperity.  According to belief, offering chola mixed with vermilion and jasmine oil to Hanuman on this day gives relief from suffering.
